Falls Prevention Classes
Falls can happen to anyone at any time and unfortunately can become more common as we grow older. Studies have shown that exercise can significantly reduce the rate and the risk of falling. This is why it is important to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.
To help reduce the risk of falls, exercise programs should incorporate the following:
- Exercises that challenge your balance
- Resistance exercises that strengthen the muscles we use for posture and walking
- Targeted exercises such weight bearing and progressive bone loading

Our falls prevention class allows you to achieve your goals in a fun and social environment. Our exercise physiologists are not only knowledgeable but are passionate in helping you get stronger and become more confident in your body.
What does the class involve?
An initial one on one consultation with the Exercise Physiologist to review your medical history, falls risk and lower limb strength assessments. Each class runs for 1 hour and has a maximum of 8 participants in each class to ensure you are provided with adequate supervision.
