Meet and Greet with Luke
A brief chat with our Senior Physiotherapist, Luke Hogan
For those that don’t know you Luke, tell us a little bit about yourself?
I grew up in a family of 6 in a small farm just south of Nowra. I have always enjoyed being active and played all kinds of sports growing up. I really enjoy cooking, being active, travelling and trying new things.
I hear you’ve done a bit of working and travelling around Europe. Would you mind telling us a little about that?
I have been extremely lucky with my work as a Physio to be able to practise in the UK and Malaysia (Malaysia was only for a short amount of time). In 2016, I moved to the UK for 2 years to work and travel around Europe. This experience allowed me to see the world while doing what I really enjoy for work. Being able to travel was also life changing for me as it allowed me to experience international cultures and some amazing sights.
Where has been your favourite country to travel to so far?
My favourite country will always be Australia but, a close second is probably Slovenia (although I have not been to Canada yet).
What do you like to get up to in your spare time mate?
In my spare time I really enjoy keeping active, running, surfing, playing sports. I also try my best at fishing (without a whole lot of success) and I also don’t mind a social beer for dinner.
So how long have you been at Adaptive for?
I have been at Adaptive now for just shy of 2 years. I am really enjoying working with this community of people.
When you are working, is there any particular patients or conditions that you like to treat?
Overall, I like to treat a variety of conditions and just generally enjoy helping everyone become better versions of themselves. If there was a favourite though, I would say it would be working with NDIS patients as well as the athletic population.
