A brief chat with our new Physiotherapist, Tim Gillham
Firstly, welcome to the team Tim! Tell us a little bit about yourself?
Cheers mate. I am a country kid who grew up in a town of Cowra and went away to boarding school for my secondary education and then away to Newcastle University to study Physiotherapy. I am the eldest of four kids, but, am constantly told by mum that if it went on maturity levels I’d be the youngest.
Haha, I would agree with your mum on that one. So what do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy doing anything that involves physical activity whether it be footy, surfing, swimming, snowboarding, lawn bowls, darts or Finska. I also enjoy spending time with my mates and having a beer or two.
Sounds great. So what made you want to become a Physiotherapist Tim?
Both my parents are physio’s and I was always interested in the big words they’d use to describe the copious amounts of injuries I’ve had. I am also interested in the human body and was always intrigued in the various methods my parents used in treating and preventing injuries.
What’s your favourite condition to treat?
The ones that get better quickly!
I seem to have developed an interest in treating shoulders recently and am loving learning the different techniques that can be used to get people back to doing what they want to be doing.
